The apartment is situated only a short walk from a shopping mall with an assortment of shops, restaurants, bars, supermarket and multi screen cinema. There is an excellent bus service into Funchal where you will find a vast choice of restaurants, bars, theatre, musical events, museums, art galleries and so much more.
Praia Formosa which is a bay on the south coast of Madeira island is only a few minutes walk away. The beach is made of large shingle and cobbles and swimming is free to all. If you walk further west along the beach there is black sand in some areas, although much of it is still cobbles. The eastern end of Praia Formosa has a series of semi-artificial rock pools that also offer public swimming.
Within 100-200 metres from the apartment are several bars and fish restaurants with reasonable prices and there are also 2 supermarkets about 10-15 minutes walking distance along the ocean promenade.
